Good Shepherd Parish
St Ann Church & St Zepherin Church - Wayland MA
Welcome to Good Shepherd Parish K-5 family-centered Religious Education Program! On Sundays, we offer K-5 Religious Education classes at both sites, St. Ann, and St. Zepherin, which are scheduled to allow your family to attend mass before or after classes depending on which site you attend.
The program is tailored to all children’s age levels and to their learning development. The curriculum of the elementary program uses Catholic grade-appropriate materials from Sadlier Publishing as teaching guides. Our team of volunteer catechists embed many engaging, fun, and creative ideas that motivate our children to learn about our Catholic faith in an environment that is nurturing and inspiring.
Our family-centered program is a fun and interactive engagement where parents, caregivers, and children learn together about God and the Catholic faith. Our goal is to include families as an integral part of their child’s faith formation journey through active participation in the program. Families will participate in the following ways:
Our Parish is an inclusive setting, and we welcome families of different needs. This includes families of children with special needs and families who are unable to afford Religious Education fees. To learn more about how we can help your family, please contact Debora S. Robertson.

First Communion at St. Ann Church - April 6, 2024
The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. As such, weekly attendance at the Sunday Mass is the single most important thing we do as Catholics. At Mass we are reminded of our identity, through the sacred scriptures, and as we receive Christ’s very Self in the mystery of the sacrament of the Eucharist. With this in mind, we’ve incorporated Mass attendance as a fundamental component of our Faith Formation program this year.
The Sunday morning schedule includes Mass participation. Families will engage together in a Mass and will pick a role to participate in. For more information on the family-centered program Mass attendance requirement and details on how your family can participate contact Debora S. Robertson for grades K-5 or Deacon Colm for grades 6-12.
Parents and children are invited to come together to learn about safety and assertiveness, along with skills that will help both you and your child identify unsafe situations, as well as resources regarding child safety. This workshop is offered annually. The date, time and location can be found on your Religious Education Family Calendar.
Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist is a two-year program with the sacraments being in the second year of Religious Education. The program typically begins in grade 1, but it can be started at a later age. Please contact Debora S. Robertson at the office with any questions.
