Pastor's Welcome

We welcome you to Good Shepherd Parish! Here we hope you’ll find a community that will both welcome and challenge you: welcome you into a community of people who are bonded together by love of God and neighbor; challenge you to grow in holiness with each passing day. Our world needs the love of Christ to give hope and to provide communion with the Living God. As Catholic Christians we strive to make His love visible and vivid in this world.

Like an arch, our celebration of the Eucharist is the keystone that holds our community together. At Mass we gather together as a people sharing a common identity, a common mission, and common struggles; we hear God communicate Himself to us in the readings from Sacred Scripture; we experience His mercy as we offer praise and worship to Him in prayer; and we receive His very Self in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Nourished and strengthened by this, we then go forth into the world to live as our Lord Himself lived: a life of sacrificial love for the world—especially those who most need the Light of Christ to shine into lives.

Through various projects and ministries, as well as in the ordinary moments of daily life, we work to make Christ’s love a real presence in our town and to our fellow man. After experiencing God’s grace for ourselves, we then do our best to share it with others. The light of Christ illumines us, and because of this we can let our light shine before all.

We invite you to join us on the adventure that an authentic life of Faith is! At whatever stage you’re at in your walk with the Lord—whether a “seeker,” a fledgling beginner, a cradle Catholic who’s just moved to town, or someone looking to re-establish your relationship with God—we’re delighted to have you with us!
